If you are unfamiliar with the riding equipment, we have lots of pictures on our website to help you create the ultimate adventure. You can mix and match any of our single passenger and multi-passenger vehicles. We provide tow and trailer rentals as well. We have all the desert gear as well so you can ride safe and in style.
Where are you located?
Our shop is located in the town of Cave Creek , which is just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale about 15 minutes. We are about 45 minutes north of the Phoenix (Sky Harbor) airport. For more information see our Cave Creek location. Our location is 9 miles from the Tonto National Forest trails. An easy drive to unbelievable views and fun!
Cave Creek has a number of shops, restaurants, spa's and artist studios to visit. It is easy to immerse yourself into the cowboy atmosphere and breath taking views of Elephant Butte and the ridge of Tonto National Forest. If part of your crew is not interested in participating in your motorsport adventure, touring the town of Cave Creek will keep them entertained while you ride.
How much does it cost?
Vehicle rental rates range from $100 and higher for half-days, full-day, or multi-day rentals. Rates are calculated by vehicle type, half day or full day, number of days, number of vehicles, and towing package option. Multi-day and group rates are available. Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, reservations are required. Please call ahead of time to arrange your adventure. Call (480) 488-8529 to book your adventure today!
How old do you have to be to ride?
You need to be 18 or older to rent the equipment. Renters take full responsibility for the equipment they rent and who they let ride. ATV manufacturers recommends riders be 16 years of age and older.
How do I get the vehicles transported to the trails or lake?
We have riding packages that include both tow vehicles and trailers. If you have a vehicle that can tow, we can include just a trailer. Our goal is provide you everything you need for your desert or water adventure.
Do you include resort pickup?
We do not pick up from resorts or hotels. Please check with your resort/hotel concierge for assistance.
Do you rent buy the hour?
We have half day, full day and mulit day rentals. Your rental vehicles are allocated to you for your specific time period. It is not necessary for you to keep your vehicles for the full time allocated if you get done early. However you must return the vehicles by the scheduled time in order to avoid any late fees.
Do you have riding gear?
Yes. Riding gear is included as part of your rental package. If you did not bring your riding gear, do not worry, we have just what you need at no additional charge. If you are going out in the desert on two wheels, we have all the safety gear you need. We will outfit you with socks, knee pads, pants, jersey, chest protector, elbow pads, boots, helmet, goggles, and gloves. We have can fit the big guys with boot sizes up to size 14. If you are riding on ATVs, you are offered helmets, goggles and gloves. Water and waist packs are provided with every rental.
Can I take the vehicles out of the country?
No, all rented equipment and riding gear must stay in the US.
What kind of wildlife will I see?
You will have the chance to see all kinds of desert wildlife. Of course it depends on the time of year and the time of day. It is possible that you will see coyotes, lizards, deer, gila monster, javelina, tarantula, and snakes. Please remember that we are sharing the desert. If you keep them at a distance, they will do the same. Please keep you and the wild life safe by respecting their habitat.
Do you need a permit to ride in the desert?
No and yes. Tonto National Forest, which is the closest riding area to our shop, is an open riding area. It does not require a permit. There is also State Trust Land nearby that you can ride on, however you are required to have an appropriate permit. You can register for a permit at the following website location http://www.land.state.az.us.
Are there trails right at your location or do we need to take the vehicles somewhere?
The closest trails to our shop in Cave Creek are 9 miles east in the Tonto National Forest. We do provide you with a map to get to the trails as well as a map of the marked trails. Please respect the desert and its habitat. It is a privilege that can be taken away.
Do you need a driver's license to ride?
No motor vehicle license required for designated, off-road areas. Our street ready vehicles require a licensed driver of 16 years or over with a valid driver's license to operate on public roadways. Some riding areas require a permit such as State Trust Land. Permits are different than driver's licenses.
Can I get to trails from your shop?
Yes, our Jeeps and Tomcars are street legal and can be driven from our shop to the trails. Our Bikes, ATVs and Polaris RZRs are not street legal and require towing to the trail head. Our tow and trailer rental package is available for those who need it.
What are the trails like?
If you have never been off-road in the desert, it is a unique experience. Arizona offers thousands of miles of trails for hours of enjoyment. Trails range from easy sand wash trails for the beginner to technical single track for the most advanced rider. Some trails include steep climbs and plenty of whoops. With any trail, you can expect to see breath taking views, ride through canyons built by mountain runoff, and landmark rock formations such as Needle Rock which has been sculptured by the Rio Verde River.
I am into geocaching, what can I expect to find?
A number of geocache sites exist out in the desert. If geocaching is something that you would want to do or try, we offer the latest in GPSs as well as the means to get to those sites in style.
Can I take your equipment to the Dunes?
No, we do not allow our equipment to be taken to the Dunes.
What is a Tomcar?
The Tomcar, originally developed for military use, is a sturdy off-road recreational vehicle designed for multi-passenger use. We offer two-passenger and four-passenger Tomcars. The Tomcars are street legal and my be driven right from our shop and onto the trails. They are your on-road and off-road ticket to adventure. The most experienced off-road enthusiast will find the Tomcar to be both fun and rewarding.
I am an expert dirt bike enthusiast, where can I learn to master racing the desert, or on the track?

Where should I eat before or after my ride?
Cave Creek has some of the best restaurants in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. We would like to recommend a few for our hungry, and possibly weary, trail riders:

I am leaving Cave Creek but am in the mood for Italian. If that is the case then check out Uncle Louie the Restaurant - Definately worth going to. Serving a variety of pastas as well as pizzas. If you are a connoisseur of fine beverages, Uncle Louie provides selections from around the world in wine and the best in mixed drinks. The restaurant is located at Lone Mountain Rd and Scottsdale Rd. They are 10 minutes south of the shop. Say hi to Louie and Marie for us.
I am leaving Cave Creek but am in the mood for a sports bar. If burger and a cold beer sounds good to you right now, then plan on visiting Gallagher's - Its a classic neighborhood bar and grill, but with class. Gallagher's provides fantastic hamburgers and wraps that are great to enjoy while watching your favorite team on the big screens located all over the restaurant. Gallagher's supplies for the sports fanatic. The restaurant is located near Carefree Hwy and Cave Creek Rd near Home Depot. The are about 5 minutes south of the shop.
